Hello our sweet friends!
It has been nearly a year since I had that ah-ha! moment. We had been brainstorming for months about our new name but nothing really fit. Then there I was having one of those deep shower conversations with myself when it hit me- The Masters in Love! I grabbed by phone with soaking wet hands, called Devin. I tried not to sound too excited when asking him what he thought as to not sway his answer.
“Its perfect,” he said.
It was one of those moments when things just clicked into place.
We knew we wanted something that represented who we are, what we value, and where we are going.
You see, when I started this business it was just me. I never could have imagined that Devin and I would now be working side by side. I never could have imagined that my passion for capturing moments would give us a place to encourage and empower other couples and their marriages.
We had just gotten married when I started photographing weddings. I had so many ideas about the way marriage would work. About what it meant to be a wife. What it meant to have a husband. After nearly 4 years, we have learned so much. We have been challenged in unexpected ways. We have grown. I have been confronted with things about myself I don’t like more times that I have liked.
But one of the greatest things I have learned is that we never stop learning. We never arrive. And that we can all learn and grow TOGETHER. It is not about trying to be perfect.
Perfection has never been our standard. Love is always the goal.
We are all on a journey, and can I admit that sometimes it feels like I am tripping and tumbling down a hill? Sometimes it feels like I say the wrong thing FAR too often. Sometimes I feel misunderstood and hurt. Sometimes I would be embarrassed if someone heard the tone that I spoke to Devin in. But you know what? Those valley moments are part of what make the mountaintops to spectacular. And we will continue to fight for those mountaintop moments for ourselves and for YOU. We believe that marriage, with all its valleys and mountaintops, is one crazy, amazing, beautiful adventure.
Honestly, sometimes I cannot believe I get to live it and capture it for others.
We want you to know that you aren’t the only ones who have valley moments. That we are in this together. Being open and vulnerable with you guys allows you to be open and vulnerable back. And we cannot say how deeply we treasure that.
We know that falling in love in the easy part. Remaining IN LOVE takes intention and courage. We are here to share our moments of growing in love and choosing to remain in love every day. And we hope that somehow, through sharing our journey, we will all be empowered to continue to pursue love in our marriages.
We are thrilled to continue to document love stories and to champion them as they grow.
Thank YOU for all of the love and support you have given us along the way. We are so excited all to come!
