I think everyone needs time to recharge their creativity- no matter what their season in life or occupation.
Sometimes that looks like taking a walk in morning before the heat of the day sets in.
Chatting with a friend over a café au lait.
Or reading old journal pages you struggle to decipher because of the passion and urgency they were written with!
Have you ever lost something only to realize that it had never been lost at all, rather it had been in your sights all along?
Looking right over the desired object with eagerness.
It can be easy to get so caught up in our day to day, that our creativity and passion slips right through our fingers only to lie, dormant at our feet while we run around in a huff.
We long for something magical to happen to us rather than making something magical happen from us.
Rekindled dreams and creativity awaken our appetite for a life filled with passion!
The need is not that our craving for adventure to be found. Rather,
the sense in which we discover to be sharpened. Our focus redirected.
Adventure dwells all around us, not across the pond- but up the stairs, down the street, deep within complexities of your own beating heart.
Sometimes it looks like the graffiti on the sidewalk that you never noticed before,
but sometimes it looks like the vast array of hues that color the streets of New York, smells like the fish market you hurry past in China Town, and feels like the aching of feet while climbing 6 flights of stairs at the end of a long day.
Take spontaneous trips! Go on adventures!
But please, don’t forget that adventure is all around us.
You don’t have to leave your state. Or even your city.
Sometimes all you have to do is open your eyes.
Cause sometimes it looks like a flight to a new place with new people,
but sometimes it looks like a ride across town, not to any specific place, with someone you love.
I love you all!
Ardently,
